SMILEY FACED FIRM LG’s upcoming high definition phone could be the Optimus LTE.
Images show a rather large handset, similar in size to the Optimus 3D but with a slighter larger screen at 4.5in. 1280×720 resolution on the IPS display will make the phone LG’s first HD handset, according to Daum.
Other specifications include a 1.5GHz dual core processor, direct WiFi, DLNA, MHL and Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, which will be upgradable after launch to Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset is also expected to come with mobile internet TV.
The translation makes some of the details a bit hazy, with suggestions of a launch next month. This could be limited to Korea at first, though, with mentions of SK Telecom and KT Corp, which are both Korean mobile operators.
If this is the firm’s upcoming HD smartphone then it will come bundled with Capcom’s Street Fighter IV in high definition. The deal was announced by the two companies yesterday.
With the phone being LTE 4G capable, we’re not sure whether it will tip up in the UK. It will possibly arrive as a 3G version with a different name but so far we have been unable to contact LG to find out.
